Indie Breakdown/VS celebrates the creativity of indie comics through two exciting phases. In the Breakdown phase, we interview creators to gather power stats, abilities, and backstories of their characters, crafting concise breakdowns for fans to easily understand their strengths. In the VS phase, we host a Creator Clash where contestants challenge one another, presenting arguments for their character’s victory using the breakdowns as their guide. The season culminates in an Official Matchup, where a randomizer selects the final showdown, and we craft a dynamic short story to determine the ultimate victor.You can find all the contestants, their characters, battles, how to support them, and their websites right here on the Indie Breakdown website. Join the ultimate indie database

We will be introducing two divisions within the Indie Breakdown. This will differentiate between characters still trying to find their way and others that have their own titles and universes. If one character is fully realized and has no story it’s hard to quantify with a character that has 2 issues and has fought a single enemy.So in an attempt to alleviate that these two divisions were formed we will be holding a draft of the members that sign up for these divisions.To sign up click the image below

Nexus

The Nexus Division shines a spotlight on characters still in the works—those yet to be published, with powers and universes still being developed. Our mission is to highlight these amazing creations and give them the visibility they deserve, while anticipating the incredible worlds being built.Nexus Battles, held on Wednesdays, will feature these up-and-coming characters, helping creators build excitement for their upcoming stories and releases.

Reckoning

The Reckoning Division is dedicated to characters with published stories and fully realized universes. Here, we focus on:Characters with established powers and abilities
Matches and discussions that explore the limits and nuances of their powers
Helping creators understand their characters in high-pressure situations
This division is also the primary source for interviews on the show, as only characters with released books are featured.Saturday’s battles will be the main events, putting these established characters at the forefront and sparking interest in their published stories and future potential.
